The Problem

Cirrus Insight is most popularly known as a Gmail extension and living within the sandbox of Gmail’s framework poses many challenges for development. One of the biggest challenges is having a large application with an entire library of robust features that doesn’t bog down the gmail experience itself. Primarily for this reason, the request was to move the brunt of the app to it’s own location, and then bring only what’s necessary back to Gmail.

Competitive Analysis

Although Cirrus Insight has been a leader in the Salesforce Apps market for many years, there has been an increasing number of players added to the field. Most notably is Salesforce itself, who entered the market some 3 years into Cirrus Insight's existence and have obvious advantages to a market that it essentially created.
